About this listen
Gabriel Axton -the Prince of Gluttony, self-proclaimed rake of rakes - lives for indulgence. But when a hunt takes a deadly turn, he realizes something is very wrong in his demon court. With the clock ticking, he must turn to the one person who can uncover the truth: a journalist he has spent a decade avoiding . . .
Adriana Saint Lucent has been on the hunt for years - if she could just report something damning about Gabriel Axton, she knows others would finally see the no-good demon as she does. But she never expected to turn up a rumour too terrifying to be believed. And soon Adriana's investigation leads her to the place she dreads most . . . Axton's infamous court.
To stop darkness from falling over their kingdom, Axton and Adriana will have to unite against an escalating danger. But with each holding tight to their own secrets, can they find the truth before it's too late? And what will they do with an equally troubling rumour: that they might not hate one another, after all?©2024 Kerri Maniscalco (P)2024 Hodder & Stoughton Limited

Absolute Chef's Kiss perfection
Seven Circles of Hell + Bridgeton + Dark Cinderella + The Bachelor = Absolute Chef’s Kiss Perfection!
This is the second instalment in the Princes of Sin series, and it’s set in the Kingdom of the Wicked universe—a world that’s dark, seductive, and utterly immersive. Think Regency London meets sexy dark fantasy with a splash of The Bachelor: it’s so good.
This one follows Gabriel Axton, the sinfully charming Prince of Gluttony, and Adriana St. Lucien, our Cinderella with a twist. Adriana isn’t just waiting for a prince; she’s a fearless reporter exposing The Prince’s every misdeed in her scandalous columns. Their chemistry? Deliciously slow-burn with ten years of unresolved tension. It’s excruciating in the best way, and when the sparks finally ignite—oh, my sinful darlings, you’ll feel it.
I’ve said it before, and I’ll say it again: Shane East and fantasy are synonymous. If you’ve ever struggled to get into a fantasy story, just listen to Shane narrate one, and you’ll instantly fall in love with the world, the characters, and of course, his tones. His ability to bring these demon princes to life—whether it’s Prince Gluttony’s cheeky charm, Envy’s sharp cunning, Wrath’s dangerous intensity, or Lust’s seductive allure—is nothing short of extraordinary. It feels like you’re listening to a full cast of actors, but nope, it’s just Shane being his insanely talented self.
And the same goes for Marisa. Her range is absolutely stunning. Every character she voices feels unique and distinct, like you’re listening to an entirely new person each time. Her Adriana is strong, smart, and sassy, but she also nails the softer, more vulnerable moments that make Adriana so relatable. Marisa’s ability to embody each character is phenomenal—it truly feels like there’s a full cast at work when it’s just her incredible talent.
Pair Shane and Marisa’s performances with Kerri’s impeccable storytelling and world-building, and this audiobook becomes pure magic. These two are a dream team, and I can’t imagine anyone else narrating this series.
Gabriel Axton isn’t your typical Prince Charming; he’s arrogant, adventurous, and overindulgent in everything. He even raises ice dragons (yes, ice dragons!!) and goes on epic hunts. All this to stoke his sin and generate his power as all the Prince’s Of Sin do in the Kerri’s Kingdom Of The Wicked. But beneath that sinful exterior? A man who worships Adriana in ways that will melt your heart—and your earbuds.
Adriana’s backstory hits all the Cinderella notes but with sharper edges: a cruel stepmother, a fading family fortune, and a hidden strength that makes her unforgettable. And let’s not forget the hexes (of course there’s more than just one)—this time threatening the ice dragons and The Prince’s demon court. To break it, these two enemies must work together, and the tension is EVERYTHING.
Oh, and the Seven Sinners Club scene? Glamour, masks, and an anonymous tryst that’s hotter than 1,000 suns. The way Axton worships Adriana —even when he doesn’t know it’s her—is straight fire.
Throne of Secrets is a 10/10 auditory experience.
If you loved Throne of the Fallen, you’ll devour this. And if you haven’t started this series yet, what are you waiting for? Romantasy lovers, this is your next obsession.
I'm Team Envy forever, but Gabrielle Axton? You’ve made me rethink everything.

Bad narration
I hate to say it because I love this Kingdom of the Wicked and Throne of the Fallen, but this was a real go girl, give us nothing book and I'm really disappointed. As one of my most anticipated reads of 2024 Throne of Secrets was a real let down for me.
It definitely doesn't help that the audiobook performers were really over the top and off-putting, but they're not totally to blame. This book just didn't live up to the others set in this world. The plot was lacking, the pacing was a bit on the weird side, and it just didn't have the same spark that I'm used to with Kerri Maniscalco's writing.
