About this listen

When her most closely guarded secrets are laid bare, how will Kira survive the inevitable fall out - and will anybody be standing beside her in the end?

Traveling to the planet of Jettie in the hopes of finding safe harbor for her niece, Kira arrives only to find their destination host to the quorum - a series of dangerous contests that hold the power to decide the fate of empires.

With little choice but to participate, it doesn't take long for Kira to find herself knee deep in enemies. Surrounded on all sides, Kira will have to face her worst fear: trusting others with the truth.

Because it's becoming clear the tsavitee are no longer content to exist in the shadows. War is coming - and everything Kira thought she once knew is about to change.

just gets better as you go

In General: TA White is an exceptional writer. I have to admit, it took me a while to give her books a go, but I am happy I did. The books have just the right amount of suspense, intrigue, and action that the plot moves along at a great pace and never feels like it's taking too long to progress.

To say I am a fan is an understatement! Nothing beats a strong and smart lead paired with a wonderful mix of dynamic and colorful secondary characters. To top it off, Natasha Soudek brings the characters to life. The differing voice fluctuations and tone given to the many inhabitants of the world enriches the listening experience.

The Firebird series is 1 of 3 available from this author, but I am hoping all her books will become available in the future.

About book 3: this is by far my favorite of the series. 1) Kira and Graden finally connect and the proof of their trust in one another manifests in a way that even Kira can't deny it inspite of her paranoia of everyone, 2) the epic telling of the qualifying wave runner race gives me all the adrenaline feels from a readers' perspective, and 3) in the first book, Kira's interaction is very stunted; only Jin is privy to her truest self. in the 2nd, Graden and Raider, slowly inch their way in to Kira's inner orbit and even though Kira is slowly opening up to the Tuann, she's still so guarded. In the third book, you finally get to see just how multi-faceted Kira is as she interacts with friend, family, and foes.

I can't wait for book 4 now that the Tsavitee have struck out against the primary races and have made their presence known.
