About this listen
Three Rivers is the fourth in a chilling series of audiobooks that will rapidly convert followers of L J Ross, Faith Martin and Helen H Durrant into David Blake devotees.
A body caught on the end of a mast, another skewered by a rhond hook and a chain of evidence Tanner simply cannot accept. As a twisting gale howls its way over Barton Broad, DS Jenny Evans joins a handsome old friend to help rescue the crew of an overturned boat. But when they discover a body, snagged on the end of the mast, one murder soon follows another, leaving DI John Tanner facing a race against time, desperate to prove that the most obvious suspect isn’t who everyone seems to think it is.

Wish it was longer
Another good book from David Blake. DI John Tanner continues on his crime solving journey, aided by his team and his love DC Jenny Evans (great character with depth).
My only criticism is the book finished too abruptly, it could have a more detailed ending, explaining what happened to the perpetrator fully.
Jonathan Keeble, as narrator, once again gives a superb performance.
I do recommend this book

Good but...
I love this series but I have to say how the author portrayed Jenny in this book was a bit infuriating. I can not imagine any female behaving in such a manner.
The story line was & plot were strong & of course the narrator outstanding.
I will read the next book & hopefully the main story will get a bit more focus than Jenny & her i securities.

annoying female character spoiled reasonable plot
Tanner is capable but occasionally emotionally driven and unprofessional. His girlfriend is a child who no sensible adult, as Tanner is meant to do, would have anything to do with. Unfortunately it is not uncommon for female characters to be written as immature adolescents. I will not be reading anymore that his Jen as a character. Well narrated

A tad disappointed in this latest.
I have loved David Blake’s previous Tanner & Evans books and was really looking forward to being reunited with them again but found Jenny Evans a total Diva this time. Carrying on like a jealous 14 year old over a new female colleague. Surely she should have had enough trust in Tanner by this stage. I cannot believe that as a Detective Sergeant she could be so blind to what was going on around her. It seemed she was the only one not seeing what was right in front of her. The way she kept “walking off the point” at the slightest provocation was so unprofessional and I found it embarrassing to be honest.

Bit of a ho-hum
Jen is made to be a moaning idiot. Had to be the poorer plots written in this series.

Jenny needs a kick up the bottom
I did find Jenny and John very silly and wish they had grown up a bit still it was ok I guess. Still the first book was the best. Glad there are no more I’m sick of them now.
