About this listen

Rivalries and resentments between mums and non-mums spiral wildly out of control in the compelling new book by the best-selling author of The Fifth Letter

"Super addictive, cleverly plotted and ridiculously relatable ... This is definitely one of those books where the characters begin to feel like your new best friends within the first few chapters" (Booktopia)

An online rivalry between mums and non-mums spills dangerously into the real world

Poppy's world has tipped sideways: the husband who never wanted children has betrayed her with her broody best friend.

At least Annalise is on her side. Poppy's new friend is determined to celebrate their freedom from kids, so together they create a Facebook group to meet up with like-minded women and perhaps vent a little about smug mums and their privileges at work.

Meanwhile Frankie would love a night out, away from her darlings - she's not had one in years - and she's sick of being judged by women at the office and stay-at-home mums.

When Poppy and Annalise's group takes off and frustrated members start confronting mums like Frankie in the real world, cafes become battlegrounds, playgrounds become war zones and offices have never been so divided.

A rivalry that was once harmless fun is spiralling out of control. Because one of their members is a wolf in sheep's clothing. And she has an agenda of her own.

Narrator is hard to listen to.

Story was okay but the narrator made it a hard listen unfortunately. Wouldn’t recommend sadly.

Entertaining

Kept me interested. Not exactly a mystery story but more real life. I liked that it bought in about social media and the problems that can originate if you do not carefully think about the consequences of your sometimes flippant posts.

meh.

Too many plot lines that had over simplified resolutions.
Enjoyable writing style but tedious overall story.
Could have been a really enjoyable story with less and more focused plot lines.
Decent narrator except for the Italian and Irish accents.

Great Narration

Enjoyed the story. Loved Louise Crawford's narration. She was great with accents and different voices for each character.

Terrible

I tried to persist with this, but I just couldn’t get through it. Story was ok but narration left a lot to be desired, I felt it was poorly interpreted and the accents were cringeworthy to say the least.

Full and drawn out

Honestly only finished it as o was out of credits and felt like I had to as I had already started. Not a good read.

Comments on story

As an avid listener to these books I must say this one was a complete waste of time and money.
I would not recommend this book at all.
A very shallow story line indeed.
