About this listen
Do you know who your friends are?
When a much-loved Kilmarnock police constable is found beaten to death in his home, all signs point to a burglary gone wrong. But, when a second officer is slain while walking the beat, it becomes clear that something much more sinister is afoot.
Somebody is murdering cops.
Harassed by an infuriating new partner and a teenage true crime podcaster, DI Heather Filson must track down a brutal killer while tensions between the police and the public explode into violence.
With rioting breaking out across Glasgow, and running battles filling the streets, Heather’s latest investigation is no longer just a murder hunt.
It’s a race to stop Scotland’s largest city from tearing itself apart.
This Little Piggy is the second DI Heather Filson novel from multi-million selling Scottish crime fiction author, JD Kirk.

Scottish Police Detective Tales
Continuing with the same characters set out in Book 1 of this series, J D Kirk delivers another gritty, gloves off, no holds barred story which is well paced but keeps you guessing all the way. Truly Excellent!

Another excellent JD Kirk novel
JD Kirk has a special talent for excellent character development. This book strikes a great balance between serious crime and good humour.

So worth waiting for! Bring on #3
Being a loyal fan and follower of the DCI Jack Logan series, I found it hard to ‘like’ DI/DCI Heather Filson.
Having just finished this, the second in her own series, reaffirms what an incredibly talented writer JD Kirk is. His ability to bring his characters to life, allowing the reader/listener to ‘see’ them (warts and all!) is amazing.
If you like Scottish crime thrillers, you can’t go past and have to read this book. The suspense had me tensing up as the story unfurled and the pieces of the plot came together.
I was wrong about Heather. Yes, she can be ‘difficult’ (understatement) but she’s dedicated and gutsy and I so look forward to the next installment!

Not bad
Loved the story. Missed the old narrator although the new one ain’t bad. Times I could have switched book off because of Swannie.

Loved it
Really enjoyed these characters. Heather really growing on me and love the relationships with Ace & Swannee - and their characterisation through McCarron’s stellar performance.
JD Kirk - more please!

Another cracker from JD!
I loved this book, I loved the dynamic between Tammi Jo and Heather especially, I liked that this was quite a bit lighter than the last one too as it was sooooo dark! I did pick the killer pretty early one which I usually never do with Barry's books but not gonna hold that against him! looking forward to the next Logan and Hoon now

Fabulous stories, fabulous narration!
I came across the series by accident and I’m hooked, great characters and plots, plus, we now have the emerging back story of Heather’s brother which is starting to look juicy too! The characters are all so wonderfully imagined, quirky and well written; hats off to Cathleen McCarron for her fabulous narration she breathes such an added spark into their personalities that you just don’t want to step away. God I can’t wait for no. 3. Do yourself a favour and settle in, great entertainment!
