About this listen

This Is Me: I'm Adopted.

Fiona Myles, author of This is Me: No Darkness too Deep, presents her second audiobook, This Is Me: I’m Adopted, a true-life autobiography.

Fiona was adopted at eight months old. From the age of six when her first real memory of being told she was adopted registered, she started to feel different. Always being reassured she was special, chosen, and wanted seemed to just enhance that feeling of not being the same as her brother and sister. Emotionally, the struggle was intense as instead of being able to speak about how she was feeling, her behavior became increasingly difficult to manage.

Although her parents did all that they could to reassure and help Fiona, she still went down all the wrong paths in life. Drugs, alcohol, prostitution, failed marriages, and infertility cemented that feeling of never being able to nest. Even finding her birth family didn't ease that need to find her place in a family.

The audiobook goes on to share Fiona's faith journey to finding that peace and the arrival of her daughter through adoption when she was 50.
