About this listen
This Is Gonna Hurt: Music, Photography And Life Through The Distorted Lens Of Nikki Sixx is all Nikki Sixx. It is a collection of compelling photography and stories that capture the rage, love, optimism, darkness, and determination that shape his work. It chronicles Sixx's experiences - from his early years filled with toxic waste, to his success with Motley Crue, to his death from an OD, and his eventual rebirth through music, photography, and love.
Love story, bad-ass rock tell-all, social commentary, family memoir, This Is Gonna Hurt offers the compelling insights of an artist and a man struggling to survive, connect, and find a happy ending - a search that fuels Sixx's being.

As always Nikki never fails
Awesome little glimpse into the life of Nikki Sixx, a lot less intense and a lighter read than the heroin diaries but very eventful and so well narrated by one of the smartest persons in rock🤘🏼

Part biographical, part philosophical, part rock star.
Love this book! Love the hard copy so adored Nikki reading it to me with the PDF of the photography sent as an attachment. Raw but more polished than the former, Nikki is eternally creative and honest as an author.

Another great book from Nikki is there anything he cant do?
I love the fact that Nikki is narrating his own story, You can’t help but get caught up in all the ups and downs, feel the pain, the heartache, then bounce back with the positivity. It’s an adventure and I’m there watching it all play out that is how he makes you feel. He is articulate and so unique the way he portrays his story. Can’t wait for the release of ‘The First 21’. Ive already pre-ordered it I’m sure it won’t disappoint!

Sixx is alive and well adjusted...all is good with
unfortunately my review will be biased. I am a massive Crue head so even though Sixx says he is (spoilers) "not a God" to me he is. He wanted to know did his story save you? Sixx saved me 30years ago, in his dieing years he kept my head above water., I wasn't gonna drown as long as I had Motley Crue. So hell yes this book is good, I have 2 hard copies but there is nothing like waking up to listen to Sixx in the AMa telling you a story.
Look even if you hate or don't even know Motley Crue but just need to validate to yourself that "it will be ok" this is the not so self help book to do that. If your view is askew and you are in love or in hate this book will be for you.
Thanks Nikki Sixx you have managed to save me again.
