'Thinner' - the old gypsy man barely whispers the word. Billy feels the touch of a withered hand on his cheek.
Billy Halleck, prosperous if overweight citizen, happily married, shuddered then turned angrily away. The old woman's death had been none of his fault. The courts had cleared him. She'd just stumbled in front of his car. Now he simply wanted to forget the whole messy business.
Later, when the scales told him he was losing weight, it was what the doctor ordered. His wife was pleased - as she should have been. But....
'Thinner' - the word, the old man's curse, has lodged in Billy's mind like a fattening worm, eating at his flesh, at his reason. And with his despair, comes violence.

Fat Tony kills it as a narrator!
An odd story, even for SK, but nonetheless enjoyed it all the way through.
The narration is awesome, highly recommend

Could not stop
I try to keep audiobooks as something to listen to while driving or falling asleep. Nope not this one, couldn't stop. Joe Mantegna is so much fun to listen to, too.
10/10 would compulsively listen to again.

As sweet as raspberry pie
Great story, fascinating charters, fantastic narration. Brilliant ending. Overall 10/10 for me.

Weird Narration
This story was not my favourite of King’s but it was okay. What really rubbed me the wrong way was the Narration. The narrator sounds exactly like Fat Tony from the Simpsons, and idk if he just hates women or something but even when women characters are mad he reads the as whining spineless crybabies.

Fantastic story terrible background music.
Great story from a master storyteller but,
please Audible, give it a rest with the background music, you're killing a good thing!
