About this listen

The United States of America is falling before the armies of the dead. Leading the sole survivors of the US Army's 10th Mountain Division out of the overrun city of New York, Captain Phil Hastings heads for the safety of Fort Indiantown Gap, a National Guard training facility deep in the woodlands of Pennsylvania.

Joining with other remnants of the military, government, and civilian communities, Hastings and his men must try to keep the tsunami of corpses from taking over the world and plan the resurrection of the nation.

But first, they have to outlast the ravages of the dead...and the living.

Awesome, just awesome

I’m a huge fan of this genre and a 20 army combat vet.
This book captures the ribbing that goes on between soldiers when they’re just sitting around, or even in combat, when you’d think everyone would be grim faced. But the reality is, dudes will just be dudes.

solid seriers

very face paced and any ex serviceman will appreciate the accuracy of the info and interactions, not really an original idea or even execution but perfectly done.

definitely worth a listen.

I really enjoyed this book.

Thoroughly enjoyed this book. Excellent character depth and diverse individual character traits. I am an ex-serviceman myself self and I could totally relate to the way the soldiers joked and gave each other shit. Simply awesome. Keep up the good work guys. Most importantly though, R. C. Bray made the characters and story come to life and there is no better narrator out there.

28 days later mixed with a Mathew Reilly novel

Amazing story, I was hooked for every second and the performance by RC Bray was fantastic he really nailed it.

This book is up there with the realism of Max Brooks’ novel World War Z and gives a great look into how the US military would cope (or try to) with a Zombie outbreak. The explanations of the variable zombies were fantastic too, i was legitimately nervous at times with a sense of dread.

I loved that I couldn’t think of one annoying loop hole that could easily be avoided, the plot and elements were all covered very well and I found myself learning more about different styles of survival and machinery that could be used so effectively. Definitely going to a hardware store if the sh!t hits the fan!!

The military dialogue was encompassing and thorough and has lead me to saying ‘let’s get this squared away’ a lot!

I look forward to book two immensely and thank the writers for such a great novel to escape to, for my daily commute. I have so many favourite characters in this book and I really hope this becomes an anime series or HBO show because it would absolutely blow the walking dead out of the water by a country mile. I’d say this would make a movie but I’d be too sad for so many great scenes to be cut out in the small time frame.

Well done and bravo lads, amazing job.

No real story line

Tc bray is great as always. But he couldn’t save this book. The plot is slow, repetitive and leads no where

Enjoyed the story and characters. Warming up to the style. Still in Arisen mode though
