About this listen
Jimmy McGuire, a washed-up comic, is found dead on the streets of Inverness, his body garroted.
Back in the 1990s, McGuire had been half of a promising double act until his partner, Jack Dingwall, was convicted of rape. Soon, a second corpse is found in an abandoned industrial site on the edge of the Moray Firth. The body has been there for some days and has also been garroted. The victim turns out to be a former musician turned record producer who had also been the subject of rape allegations.
Meanwhile, DI Alec McKay and DCI Helena Grant are still wrestling with the fallout from one of their recent cases following an acquittal. As the body count rises, the police think they have the killer in their sights. But McKay is concerned that the evidence is too neat, so when he realises there will be a final victim, he fears that time is running out....

Nothing beats a good Scottish Murder Mystery
A most enjoyable listen to accompany a day of boring domestic duties. There were enough twists in the plot to keep me focused and although the murder weapon & it’s source seemed a bit of a giveaway, I still got the who & why wrong.

Yet another good read
Having completed the series I’m upset they are almost like family, going to miss the characters.

Good story and plot
I enjoyed this very much. Was not as intriguing as book two but still very good. Also brought the first book to a better close. The narrator was good too.

Their Final Act
I’ve read a few of these books with these books and it’s kind of nice listening to stories involving familiar characters. I enjoyed the stories, references to previous stories or people and would like to read more. The narrator is good at the different character voices and look forward to listening to him again.

No need for so much foul language
This is a very good storyline. The narration is excellent but seriously put off by the repeated use of the f word. It is totally unnecessary and does nothing to add to the story.
