About this listen
Don’t miss the final book in the bestselling Eric Ward series. It’s a cracker!
A dangerous killer with a penchant for the Zodiac symbols is abducting, torturing, and murdering women. Eric Ward and Sharon Owen are in court defending the man accused of these crimes, and due to a technicality, the suspect walks free. But is he really guilty?
Meanwhile, DCI Charlie Spate is tracking the alleged Zodiac Killer but loses his trail. Eric receives an urgent call asking him to go to a remote Northumberland farmhouse to meet the man who walked free, but when he arrives, it’s carnage. He finds bloody clothing and an unconscious Sharon Owen. Can he stop the killer before anyone else gets hurt?

Disappointing
classified as police procedural there's very little of it and most is mundane. instead, the author takes the reader (listener) on a journey of several seemingly unrelated sub-stories. of course, we expect them to be pulled together but that saves little. In fact, some of the legal firm parts read like the minutes of their staff meeting. Now the author tries to spice it up with some "intimate " diversions but, really, that's a bit 1970's isn't it? There's not even a hero or dark anti-hero to save us. Readers want this, I think. As I say, disappointing.
