About this listen

David George was an established lumberjack, cage-fighting promoter, and mixed martial arts matchmaker thriving on what life had to offer. In 2011, the reality hit TV show Survivor called and presented him with a personal invite to California. The invitation, however, was put on hold after he received an unexpected phone call 48 hours later.

David decided to flip the script as he took the idea of Survivor into his own hands while spinning out of control physically and emotionally. Strapped with a GoPro Hero and Nikon camera, he began documenting his life, which resulted in 258 days of filming and over 6500 photographs. The plan was to tell and show a true story about staying positive in the face of uncertainty. The goal was to make an art project out of real-life experiences and expose to the world why 2012 was The Year It All Made Sense.
