About this listen
Dante and Blays have forced Gladdic from the Collen Basin. But the victory might be only the first battle in a much larger war. With the land on the brink of starvation and politically fractured, Dante and Blays scramble to secure Collen's food, borders, and allies. Before their work is done, rumor arrives from Mallon. The enemy is mustering for another attack.
Even if Collen can weather the coming storm, there's no guarantee their independence will last out the year. During a border raid, Dante learns Gladdic has fled to the shadowy realm of Tanar Atain, home of the Andrac.
And the secrets Gladdic returns with could tip the balance of power forever.

ever evolving
the story just gets better and better as a series and this book is just fantastic. The evolution of the world and all the contributing societies gel so well to unravel a definite brilliant ending to the series, but somewhat predictable.

Loved the surprises.
There were a few things in this book that you could easily guess how they would resolved during the previous book. But there were a lot of new surprises and the story hasn't dulled.

Dante and Blase are always entertaining
I have followed Dante and Blase since "The Cycle of Arawn" and the little touches of humorous reactions between them is always worth a chuckle or three.

Great dynamics
I truly enjoy the relationship between Dante and Blaze, and the plot twists, life heads in one direction and new directions are followed as they arise. they stick to their morals. they get involved in crazy stuff. they nut stuff out.. adventurers through and through. Great escapism!
