About this listen
Your parents are lying bags of dicks. That mannequin you saw move in that department store that one time when you were younger? Well, it did move, and given the chance at best it would have given you everlasting nightmares, at worst…well that’s a story to wet your pants on another day.
The Aurora Wasteland exists, but it’s not the Aurora Wasteland you’ve grown up with—let's get that out of the way right now. The town of Brightness Falls is gone, destroyed when a giant spider freed itself from captivity below it. This means, no Bright Fest, no lake, no…well, a lot of things. Something is different, but the strange and weird are still leaking through.
A new and inquisitive journalist is on her way across Canada to explore the world of the Aurora Wasteland. With the podcasts of her favorite wasteland explorer playing on repeat in her ear, she sets out to make a name for herself. Only, the Aurora Wasteland has other plans for her. In a situation known to every single human on planet earth, Bernet, having paid no attention to her bladder's warning as they passed through the last town, was forced to pee on the side of the busiest highway in Canada. After a quick pants drop and tinkle into the snow, Bernet finds herself alone… well, technically not alone. Her warm, bladder-busting tinkle unearthed a body buried in the snow…one she’d never expect to find there…her own.
As Bernet slips into the Aurora Wasteland, Monahan and Jeff rush to save her, only to stumble into the exact same issue Bernet was facing: getting out. An issue all too familiar to Jeff, who has since completed reading Tethered.
At the same time across the province, Gabe and Logan are both running into old friends. One comforting, the other, well…slightly more murder-y.
As more memories from their two lives bang against each other in the naughtiest of ways, the team is left substantially more confused than when they started.
It’s ok to be confused and scared, but I should warn you that if you’re reading this, then it’s already too late. The Aurora Wasteland has you. It knows you. There is no escape. Trust me, because…actually, it’s better you just figure out what’s going on, for your own sake and sanity. Read, watch, listen, do that you have to do, consume it all. Because you’ll need it.
Welcome to The Wonderful World of Scary Ass Shit and the Aurora Wasteland.
