About this listen
Shay Bastable is the woman in the middle. She is there for everyone else, holding them all together, looking out for them all. She is part of the sandwich generation – caring for her parents and her children – and she loves it that way.
But Shay is so busy supporting everyone else, she hasn’t thought for a moment about herself. And when her family start to find their own ways in the world, she is finally able to look forward to some breathing space. But when her whole world collapses, who is left to her support her…?©2021 Milly Johnson (P)2021 Simon & Schuster, UK

Rather sad but still enjoyable
Have not liked all Milly Johnson’s books but found this sad but satisfying. Can appreciate a Yorkshire accent is necessary but still find it annoying!

So very very good
I loved this. A feel good story with lots of side plots and easy listening. Sad it’s finished.
I loved the narrator’s accent, especially her telephone voice.

Good book, not good ‘audiobook’
There are a few chapters that skip to the next. The narrator changes back and forth several times which I found distracting. I really enjoyed the book but the ‘audio’ part really let it down, unfortunately. I expect better from Audible.

Sorry but I couldn’t get into it at all
I have loved all Millys books till now but couldn’t get into this one. Boring characters and storyline, so slow moving, with no apparent plot. I lost track while listening and had to go back and retry to concentrate as my mind couldn’t be bothered to tune in and listen. I’m so sorry Milly, I have waited a long time for this one, was so excited to see it and buy it, and I’ll give your next one a go as I’ve really enjoyed your others,
