In a word, magical.
I got absolutely lost in these 3 books and am devastated that they ended. I will miss the characters and the sweeping story telling of Katherine Arden, so beautifully narrated by the entrancing Kathleen Gati. At once romantic and harsh, fantastic and real. I can’t recommend the Winternight trilogy highly enough.

So good! Would recommend to anyone!
This trilogy is so wonderful, I'd recommend it to almost anyone. Kept some mystery, there's adventure, fighting, the supernatural, romance and friendship. I honestly cant even explain how much I loved the series.
I also really loved that the narrator did the accents and different voices, it really brought the story to life. My only complaint is that she spoke so slowly that I had to keep it at 1.75x or 2.0x to keep up with the pace of the book. So really, think of it at like a 7-9hr read

Amazing conclusion to a beautiful series
The fantasy elements of this story came further to the forefront in this book which I really loved. Russian folklore isn’t something I had a huge amount of exposure to prior to starting this series, but I think I’ve really started to gain a real appreciation for it and I now really want know even more. I also think that the way the folklore is blended into actual historical events is really well done.
This is a fairly character-driven series but the plot did pick up the pace in this book. I was on edge pretty much the whole time and couldn’t stop listening to the audiobook (which was amazing by the way, I would definitely recommend it).
Vasya is a great character to follow, she’s really headstrong and daring but there is definitely huge consequences for her actions which helps add to the realness of the story. I also really loved the side characters in this series, even though sometimes my heart was breaking.
Overall, I loved this book so much and I think it might be my favourite book in the series. I would highly recommend this series to anyone who loves atmospheric stories with enchanting writing.

wonderful
Immersive - a beautifully written world with memorable characters especially our leading female character experiencing pain and joy. Ah horses, got to love them. Anyone who does will shed a tear or two while reading this one. This trilogy is worth it mixing history, and Russian folktales with fantasy. This trilogy delivers wonder, adventure, and beauty.

I was not ready for this book to end
Wonderful. Sad to finish this series. The final book did not let me down. Made me cry and again filled me with a desire to learn more about Russian folklore and mythology. I would recommend this series to anyone who loves fantasy and adventures.
