Twists and turns with every chapter
A book that keeps you guessing to the very end. Each chapter reveals yet another twist. What you think you know and guess is not even close. Gripping and enjoyable.

interesting and a bit different
a little different to other similar books out there which is great.
Dont take any of the medical advice to your memory, incorrect burns treatment and dont scuba before you fly! entertaining but perhaps a little long and tried a bit hard at the end to have an extra twist that was unnecessary to me and made it less believable.

Great book, would recommend
It was an engaging book and a good storyline about a woman overcoming gaslighting and emotional/physical abuse and how every action has a ripple effect. the narrator was great. I guess the reason I didn't give it 5 stars was because at times I thought the story was extremely unbelievable and I could never really grasp what era this was being held in. otherwise a good book.

It's Okay...
I got this for the reviews and honestly it wasn't as good as i had expected but i think that's more because i wanted a thriller and this is more a domestic relationships sort of book. It just wasn't as thrilling as i had hoped, but it was interesting enough that was intruiged to finish and find out how it ended so a 6/10 for me

Bit too convoluted
The main two characters are quite well drawn but it’s a bit repetitive and the “twists” are a bit clunky. Needed more editing to make those clearer - it wasn’t always clear which wife was speaking now or whether we were in the past or present. The final two twists with Maureen and Emma were a bit of overkill and not really necessary - a bit too neat. A good depiction of coercive control and gaslighting though, and how hard it is to leave. Might have worked better if the timeframe was just linear. Wouldn’t rush to buy another of their books. Other reviews complained about the “man’s” voice, I thought it was fine and that the reader made the different characters clear.

A great read.
This is the 2nd time ive either read or listened to the audio. You know that feeling you get halfway through when you know you know what is going to happen? But it must have been a long time ago because i was transfixed all over again and couldn't put it down.
