About this listen
Brought to you by Penguin.
Over 1 million Discworld audiobooks sold – discover the extraordinary universe of Terry Pratchett’s Discworld like never before.
The audiobook of The Wee Free Men is narrated by Indira Varma (Game of Thrones; Luther; This Way Up). BAFTA and Golden Globe award-winning actor Bill Nighy (Love Actually; Pirates of the Caribbean; Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows) reads the footnotes and Steven Cree (Outlander; A Discovery of Witches) voices the Nac Mac Feegles. Featuring a new theme tune composed by James Hannigan.
Tiffany wants to be a witch when she grows up.
A proper one, with a pointy hat. And flying, she's always dreamed of flying (though it's cold up there, you have to wear really thick pants, two layers).
But she's worried Tiffany isn't a very 'witchy' name. And a witch has always protected Tiffany's land, to stop the nightmares getting through.
Now the nightmares have taken her brother, and it's up to her to get him back.
With a horde of unruly fairies at her disposal, Tiffany is not alone. And she is the twentieth granddaughter of her Granny Aching: shepherdess extraordinaire, and protector of the land.
Tiffany Aching. Now there's a rather good name for a witch.
The Wee Free Men is the first book in the Tiffany Aching series, but you can listen to the Discworld novels in any order.
The first book in the Discworld series - The Colour of Magic - was published in 1983. Some elements of the Discworld universe may reflect this.

The Nac Mac Feegle were perfection
Everything in this Tiffany story was done right. I’m hoping her voice changes with Tiffany aging.
Wentworth was exactly the right kind of annoying child. My sadness is Granny sounding like a batty crone, when she really deserves to have a more commanding voice.
But it was having a proper Scot doing the Nac Mac Feegle that brought me the most joy.
Now I can get the rest of the series.

Everything about
this book , from conception to completion, new recording included, works. I have been spirited to a World , so much better than the one I currently inhabit. ThankYou Mr Pratchett for yet another masterpiece, and to all the collaborateurs that have brought this work to life ✨🙏🏽✨

Don't let the "for kids" bit dissuade you
This feels just like any other Discworld story, and honestly, I feel as tho the "Discworld: for kids" tag on the Tiffany Aching series is just there mostly for marketing.
10/10 all 'round.

The definitive performance. Recommended
The Tiffany Aching books are my favorite Pratchett books. I’ve adored them since they were released.
I know I’ve listened to other narrations, but they’ve all been erased from my memory by this performance. Indira is the perfect narrator, and Steven’s Nac Mac Feegles are awesome.

Excellent voices!
I have read the physical copy of the book and the audible voices matched perfectly with my mind's ear.

Awesome
Was a different and very pleasant story strong young female character that wasn’t over done in personality, the narrator was also perfect for this reading.
