Recommened, Breath and Take Control.

In the genre of Extreme Ownership By Jocko Willink, Leif Babin & Make Your Bed by Admiral McRaven and Sea Stories. Mark Devine has expanded upon the Seal ethos and training technics.

I first imagined a team sitting in a circle in the lotus position and practising deep breathing prior to going in.

The Way of the Seal is more than that and I have started practising Mark's technics. Surprise, they work.

BUT, the most important lesson that I picked up was what "Hell" week is all about. An Officer has to operate effectively under extreme pressure and how they respond during intense situations is critical to the success of the mission. Mark spoke of being put under extreme stress and pressure by the training officer. Mark instead of breaking and failing drew in his inner self and made light of the situation and passed.

Both Admiral McRaven Jocko Willink, Leif Babin and Mark spoke of the freezing water experience where they all broke out in song. None discuss the real reason for this training. But Mark opens it up that this is designed to bring out the inner strength of the men ( evoked in all cases in a song).

I work under extreme pressure and stress. and where I would have exhibited venting. I now breathe and visualise a rose. I then state the mantra of an officer and respond in a calm thoughtful manner
This makes Way of The Seal a must-read book.

Please read and read the other books mentioned, become what you can be........
