The world building and characters are everything!
“Heavy are the shoulders of those who bear destiny.”
The Warrior Priestess picks up right where The Warrior Midwife left off, and this book is darker and heavier than the first, but it is not without some light. We see glimpses of beloved characters as Saraya and Drake try to escape their predicaments (boy it’s hard to write spoiler-free reviews for sequels!). Once again the story is dual POV and I love seeing these characters’ minds as all the shit is going down! The Warrior Priestess had me gasping, cackling with laughter, and had my jaw on the floor more than once!
Bali comes through with all those favourite tropes again for this one.

If you haven’t read Bali’s other books, The Chrysalis Key and The Allure of Power, you might want to, because the worlds collide and all the little easter eggs are coming out and I’m so excited to see where this all goes!! I imagine the author has one of those peg boards with pictures and bits of string connecting everything haha, the way she is weaving this all together is so cool to see!
