A wonderful piece of audio history.

I had often been told stories of the controversial War of the Worlds radio broadcast that terrified people so much that they actually thought there was a genuine invasion going on. So getting to listen to the actual recording was very exciting for me. I can now see why it frightened so many people. It cuts off instantly from a "story" broadcast to a "news" broadcast and it transitions so smoothly.....you'd be forgiven for thinking it was a genuine news report. And many people back in those days did think it was. Very well done and a great acquisition by Audible.
Highly recommended for both young and old. This is a great listen back to a historical recording.

War Of The Worlds - Interesting historical moment

Listening to the full 1930s production of Orson Welles’ theatre troupe’s War Of The Worlds was interesting. It is a worthwhile and entertaining investment of an hour of your time to listen to the entire production. I had only heard the urban myth of the wide spread panic the radio play had caused, and snippets of the production before. I can understand how the production would have been utterly astounding at the time. I liked the realistic pauses in between the breaking news broadcasts as things got increasingly… hectic.
