About this listen

In September 2012, a YouGov poll conducted in Britain found that the person British workers would most like as their manager was Sir Richard Branson.

With over 40 years in business, Richard Branson is an inspiring pioneer of humanitarian projects and an iconic business leader. In The Virgin Way: How to Listen, Learn, Laugh and Lead, Richard shares and distils his secrets of leadership and success. Featuring anecdotes from his own business dealings, as well as his observations of many others who have inspired him - from politicians, business leaders, explorers, scientists, and philanthropists - Richard reflects on the qualities he feels are essential for success in today’s world.

This is not a conventional audiobook on leadership. There are no rules - but rather the secrets of leadership that he has learned along the way from his days at Virgin Records, to his recent work with The Elders. Whether you’re at the beginning of your career, or head of a Fortune 500 company - this is your guide to being your own CEO (Chief Enabling Officer) and becoming a true leader - not just a boss.

Recorded on location at Necker Island.

Dyslexia

A very enjoyable book easy to listen to humorous and practical.
I enjoyed the focus on treating staff well, addressing poverty and the community focus.
If Richard hasn't read the story of Solomon's servants in the bible I can recommend that one to him as I find that inspirational too

I would also like to know if Richard has start up funding for people with dyslexia?
What an awesome thing that would be.
As some say in NZ Kia kaha (strength to your arm)

Inspired

Practical, honest and open account of what works, what hasn’t worked, pitfalls to be aware of and how to inspire - back yourself and listen intently.

Expected more polish, Richard phoned this in.

Abraham Lincoln once said "I don't like that man. I must get to know him better." so I have.

I expected to be dazzled but wasn't. A little self-indulgent and seemed Richard did it as a first read.
If he worked for me, I would send him back to edit and put some excitement and involvement in his performance.
Excellent for tips but definitely not a "How to Make Friends and Influence People in The Digital Age" or "Never Lose a Customer Again" By Joey Coleman standard.
Disappointed young Richard.
Expected to be inspired and motivated.
Information was good. Concepts are good. Enthusiasm and involvement are not evident.
Worth listening to but..........
interesting postscript, Virgin is now a customer of mine. They listen...

useful insights

A good book which has given me some interesting points to think about and implement. Some things are so glaringly obvious ... Richard has a simple way of highlighting in this book

Great Read!

personally narrated by Sir Brandon himself, it's fully of insightful stories and experiences that have led to were Virgin is now, although amusing he offers his first hand experience as practical possibilities that any business owner or even leader can relate too and learn from. my only complaint is it felt like it was too short amd I wanted to hear more, it would be very hard not to enjoy this book
