Publisher's Summary

A feel-good story of new beginnings set in a gorgeous country village.

'A lovely story of finding yourself and discovering what home means. I couldn’t stop turning the pages. Loved it.' Jessica Redland

After losing her job in New York, Amber Green isn’t looking forward to visiting her godmother in the sleepy village of Cranbridge. With its empty lanes and rundown shops, it’s hardly a place to mend her lonely heart.

But when Amber discovers that Cranbridge Stores, owned by her godmother Cathy and son Josh, is under threat of financial ruin, she realises that her skills as a window dresser might just be able to help save the struggling shop.

When disaster strikes, Amber and Josh must unite to save both the shop and the village from flooding.

Can Cranbridge Stores become the heart of the village once more?

And as the village begins to come back to life, perhaps Amber will discover a reason to stay…

A feel-good listen perfect for fans of Katie Fforde and Milly Johnson

'Glorious escapism. Uplifting, heartwarming and joyful, Alison Sherlock writes with a warmth and lightness of touch' Kerry Fisher

Nice, easy, lighthearted story.

A lovely easy to listen to story. Occasionally repetitive and of course predictable- but that’s also what I liked about it. Sweet and wholesome.

Cosy story

A lovely, cosy story, although a bit corny and predictable in parts. I definitely enjoyed it.

Predictable Syrupy Schmultz

after the first few chapters, when we discovered Josh's passion for sustainability, the plot line was obvious and the author did not disappoint.
Using audio books on my daily commutes, I wound it the speed and listened to the bitter end.
Entirely predictable with not one original idea.
Sugar sweet and syrupy lines. The author was clearly in love with her characters; so much so, that instead of leaving it comes to a natural end in Amber And Josh's river adventure, she was compelled to write one final unnecessary chapter. I
f I had been sitting on the bench outside the shop, I would have dozed off.
The narrator was good but aided the syrupy tone of the book.
The only good point was that this was a free book so At least I did not waste money: only my time.

A delightful, feel good, smile producing story

This was soo delightful to listen to. The narrator was fabulous, and the story, no matter how old fashionedly cliche, had me smiling and hoping with every twist and turn.
I thoroughly enjoyed it.
