About this listen
A USA Today best seller!
What's worse than having Rider Kingston, the star quarterback, give you the big brushoff because he doesn't want to get serious? You'd probably think living across the street from him where you get a firsthand view of his hookups, right?
That's what I thought. Until someone drops off a baby with a note pinned to her blanket that says one of those jocks - either Rider or one of his roommates - is the father. The problem? Baby mama doesn't mention which of these numbskulls is the sperm donor.
I wouldn't care about their paternity problems - not the slightest bit - except my brother lives there too. Which means that adorable squawking bundle might be my niece, and there's no way I'm leaving her unattended with those bumbling football players.
They need my help, even if they don't know it yet. Once we solve this dilemma and figure out who's the daddy, I'm out.
I'll just ignore Rider and those soul-searing looks he gives me every time I reach for the baby. He broke my heart three years ago. He won't get a second chance.

So glad I decided to read this.
I needed a book that would lift my spirits after having a bad week and I found this in my recommendations. I Ioved every moment. The characters were fantastic and I didn't want it to end. If you want a book that will make you smile then this is the book

Story: the book started off okay and had promise with the plot, but once the paternity test came back, the story just felt stagnant and dragged on and on. It probably didn't help that the characters were kinda 1d or 2d at best and was hard to get behind them (I was more interested in side characters than the main). The mmc had a horrible inferiority complex even though he's meant to be cocky/confident and the fmc suffers from intense abandonment issues that makes her distrustful. The two leads suffer from repetitive miscommunication and both draw their own conclusions over and over about one another. IMO at some point, word count seemed to take over any actual story weaving fell to the background. I skipped chapters to just move past the nonsense. You know it's bad when you can skip chunks of a book and feel like you've missed nothing.
Narrators: I like both and feel they fit the characters, but even the talent couldn't sell me on the book. The narration felt flat on various chapters and makes me wonder if they themselves like the book.
overall, not sure it's worth the credit. this was bought during a 3 for 2 sale and was sitting in my wishlist for sometime. I wasn't really sold on this author due to a previous read on a different book, but I liked the narrators so I wanted to give this author another try. Sadly, this book dragged on like the other.
