The hospital, long decayed and on the verge of collapse, had apparently cut corners at every opportunity; the drab gray walls were peeling, the linoleum floors warped and discolored, and, in some spots, smeared with blood.
Blood stains left behind by other victims of Ben Carter's white slavery ring.
When they walked in the back door, it seemed as though the whole building, foundation and all, emitted this sound; a train whistle, a shooting star, stones cracking as they were torn asunder, the voices and screams of former patients as they descended into madness. And yet, there was something else, an eerie whine beneath it all.
The whine of a legion of voices, all ghosts of Ben's former victims, screaming for vengeance...
