About this listen
I'm learning to embrace who and what I am, but there's one thing I can't face: the night Zak betrayed me. But even with the mysteries of our shared past hanging between us, I can't turn Zak away when he asks for my help.
Powerful fae are going missing, and when he tried to investigate, Lallakai vanished too. Now he wants me to venture with him into the territory of the Shadow Court, but its bloodthirsty courtiers don't welcome meddling druids.
Danger is gathering around us, seen and unseen. As we uncover incomprehensible clues about the missing fae, we realize this nightmare runs deeper than we imagined, and unveiling it means delving into the past-our past.
If I abandon Zak now, he'll never make it out alive. But if I stay at his side, if I face the truth of that night, it will destroy us both.

More of everything
We get more backstory, violence and intrigue in this story. Waiting for the no doubt thrilling ending. As always, a great narration.

Fantastic
The new twists and turns, finally a full story revealed. I would have liked more riker but honestly I’m so excited for the final book.

not my favourite
I love this series and this universe but this book was lacking. I found myself bored by all the long battles. I enjoy the parts where she's at the Guild and interacting with others more. The storyline seemed a bit far-fetched and forced. it also has a very abrupt ending but i am looking guard to the next book because like I said, I love this universe :)

Great Character Arc. Terrible Ending.
I really like this series. It’s a bit darker than the other Guild Codex stories. In this one, we learn a lot more about Zac and Saber. Lots of questions are answered. But what happened to the ending??? It feels like it ends at the climax. I HATE when that happens! I need the next book immediately!!! Everyone involved in this series must drop everything else they are doing right now and release the next instalment as soon as is humanly possible. Aaargh!

Lost the Rhythm at the end
Started well and flowed with great synergy,
Peppered with Zac's origin story made for a great listen. Then for no apparent reason, some of the most experienced, skilled and capable characters became completely flaccid and incompetent. This has laid the foundations for what I fear will be a very predictable final book.
Narration as always was great.
Now, just listening out of loyalty to the brand.
