About this listen
Just when I thought I'd finally found happiness, the nightmare I've been running from finds me, and my world goes dark.
Taking more from me than one person should ever have to lose, I end up on a new path, discovering I'm capable of things I never imagined possible, not even in the darkest parts of my imagination.
So much blood. So much pain. So. Much. Death.
Now, in a world where right is wrong, and the means justify the ends, where my presence brings destruction and devastation, I need to find my way back to the light, to joy. To love.
I thought when trouble came for me, I'd need the biggest monsters of the city on my side... but it turns out when you come for the people I love, I might be the biggest monster of all.
Intended for mature listeners.

I inhaled the 2 books in 2 days. I found enjoyment in the FMCs humour

The story was hard to follow at times.
The concept of these books was ok, however, there were parts of the book that really had no importance at all and other parts that should have been important that was ignored or skimmed over.
For example spoiler alert.
Harper betrayed people whom she had been friends with ‘forever’ and when it came to getting answers out of her, Mayer and the FMC’s conversation with Harper was skimmed over. But the dress shop visit got a detailed telling.
Then the part about the FMC’s parents not being her real parents, a sheriff knew they killed her mother and let the killers keep the child????? Come on, that is just stupid, it was a stupid afterthought and felt like it was chucked in at the end in an attempt to have a twist at the end of the book.
During the spicy parts the female performer sounded as though she was reading a shopping list. It was quite boring and lacklustre.
