Excellent.

Kafka was truly prophetic — his ability to capture the dream-like absurdity of being caught up in layers of bureaucracy in a gripping narrative is without parallel. "The Trial" is case and point.

Intense Foreboding

Apart from being classic Kafka (along with the ambiguous ending) it was the shear breadth of the narrator in handling the different characters in the plot that engaged me and kept me fascinated. I highly recommend this version.

what a surreal and strange yet compelling story

I had heard a lot about the trial and decided to read it myself. it is cereal and circular and never really reaches any point aside from the frustration of a bureaucratic nightmare. at every stage of the book I wanted to find out what happened at next but nothing actually happens. that is the magic of the story.
