About this listen
This gritty and intense story contains PTSD, violence, profanity, and sex.
Starring Rick O’Grady and Billie Malone, with David and Kenzie, Pete and Sophia, and introducing Cajun Remy Benoit and special guest stars General Andrew Jackson and the pirate Jean Lafitte.
The adventure: In New Orleans to speak at the annual conference of the National Association for Catering & Events, former Army Ranger Billie Malone decides to swing by an estate sale and can’t resist buying a magnificent topaz brooch.
Later in the day, while admiring her purchase, she triggers the magic, is whisked back in time to Barataria in 1814, and is drawn into the Battle of New Orleans and the escalation of an ancient, ongoing war with powerful, global combatants.

Narration was great
Narration was great compared to the last book.
Found this book a bit vulgar compared to previous, and the repeated emphasis on orgasms and Rick's d*** became pretty tedious.
Overall, have enjoyed the series.

Committed listener
Sadly the narrator did a poor job at the Scottish accent which was disappointing but love the stories so persevered

Topaz
brilliantly done.As well as the male and female voices.the sound effects added more drama to the scene. Hopefully these two wilnarrate the rest of the books.

Really Good Book, Longer Than Usual
The narrators were great, very easy on the ear ... except when using the crude language and Elliot’s accent. I don’t mind a bit of bad language, but thought it was way over the top in this book. Certain words were used far too often, and the blow-by-blow accounts of them having sex were cringeworthy. That aside, the adventure was great, the book was longer than usual (also great), and I’m looking forward to the next one.

Disappointment
Too much 'Shades of Grey' and not enough life appreciation. I struggled to continue the story and flashed through the bedroom scenes for story content.
