About this listen
An eighty-year-old man is found murdered in his home. His age and standing in the community makes finding his killer difficult–why would anyone harm an elderly man? What threat could he possibly be to anyone?
With no apparent motive, DS George Cross canvases the community for potential suspects but the man was known as generous, charitable, community-minded. Each interview about who the man is muddies the picture further. So Cross decides to look for who he was–revealing a past that is far less honourable than his present . . .
Perfect for fans of MW Craven, Peter James and Joy Ellis, The Teacher is part of the DS George Cross thriller series, which can be listened to in any order.
'I am insanely in love with George Cross, a perfect detective for our time and for all time.' STEPHEN FRY

A Cracker of a Series
The latest in an excellent series. Engaging characters, clever plot lines with multiple twisting stories. Great narration. Can’t wait for the next book.

Lovung this series
I have binge listened to the DI Cross books & absolutely love them. I have become very fond of the main characters, especially George, and like the balance in the storylines of work & private lives. To be honest it has taken me 3 books to get used to this narrator (who is different from the original one) & this is the first book where I havent cringed at him mispronouncing words or getting who said what correct at various points.
There is something wonderful about having a main character with George's set of challenges as our hero & it is refreshing to stop & see social interaction through his lens. I love the way his team support him, even though he doesnt often realise it. All of these characters are growing & learning as the books progress & we do likewise alongside them. I'm already looking forward to the next book!

My book 3 review has improved!!!
I don't like doing poor reviews but the book 3 narration was so dissappinting I felt compelled. I loved the 1st narrator & didn't understand the change.
I'm pleased to report this narrator has improved immensly. I'm back to being wonderfully lost in the twists & turns the author does so well, being led to the brilliant endings I've grown to expect.
Bravo. So glad I persisted!

Long live George Cross & Co!
I’ve devoured every George Cross book and can’t wait for more. Tim Sullivan’s meticulously planned plots are funny, clever and poignant with very relatable characters. The neuro divergent hero’s relationships with all in his orbit are a joy to behold. The Teacher is brilliantly satisfying!

Thoroughly enjoyable
I’ve listened to the story up-to-date, that is all the novels in a row gallery enjoyed them. All this one was no exception.
I’m guessing in the next book to come Alice will be a policewoman, Jesse will be promoted, and probably George‘s boss, can’t wait to find out, come on January

Clever plotting and believable characters.
I love the George Cross interviews. There are so many clever themes woven into this book. I believe Tim Sullivan is the master of crime writing. Occasionally, the reader pronounced words the wrong way eg Wolfgang should be pronounced as Volfgang, not Woolfgang. One should know how to pronounce Mozart’s first name. Also ‘a’ should be ‘ah’ not ‘ay’ as in politician speak.
