About this listen
Brought to you by Penguin.
A witty and enthralling Regency romance by one of the best-known and most beloved historical novelists.
The legend of the Headless Horseman and a proposed marriage de convenance both have their impact on the mystery of a golden talisman ring and Lord Lavenham's young heir, Ludovic. Neither Sir Tristram Shield nor Eustacie, his young French cousin, shares the slightest inclination to marry one another, yet it is Lord Lavenham's dying wish. For there is no one else to provide for the old man's granddaughter while Ludovic remains a fugitive from justice....
Yet again, Georgette Heyer shows the qualities that made her one of the most successful and best-loved romantic novelists of her age, and why her popularity endures to this day.

Fantastic Performance.
One of my favourite by Georgette Heyer and so beautifully reas. The different voices actually sounded like different people so it was very easy to follow along what was happening to whom.

As always - most enjoyable
I always find the heroines most interesting, they always plenty of spunk, Here we have the contrast between Sarah & Eustasy , also btween their interpretation of events, and that of the men. Their conversation is very droll, full of turns of phrase no longer used, but perfectly ubderstandable
The narration is excellent , the different voices for the different characters is very well done .
A most enjoyable book

so good, so funny, so sweet
This charming Heyer story has a bit more intrigue compared to her usual, but is still romantic. Moreover, its clever and funny, and the narration is absolutely wonderful. Joe Jameson nails the comedic timing and accents. what a pleasure!
