About this listen
Ashley Moon is all set for a dream holiday with her daughter in the glittering French Riviera. But nothing can prepare her for the shock of discovering who’s staying in the villa next door....
A wonderfully heart-warming story of first love and second chances for fans of Jenny Oliver and Lucy Diamond.
Ashley got much more than a suntan on her first ever foreign holiday; one whirlwind romance and nine months later she had a daughter, Molly. Too proud to ever contact the father, Ashley made a decision to go it alone and raise her daughter herself.
Fifteen years later, she finally has the chance to take Molly on her first ever holiday; a gorgeous, all-expenses-paid trip to the charming French resort of St. Raphael. But fate has other plans. One look into her neighbour’s dark hazel eyes is all it takes to give her the shock of her life. Standing in front of her is Haydon, Molly’s long-lost father and the holiday fling she thought she’d never see again.
As the temperature on the Cote D’Azure steadily rises and Ashley and Haydon begin to spend more time together, will Ashley find the courage to tell him who she is - and more importantly, who Molly is?

Hhmmn
Okay well, Ashley was infuriating. Haydon seems like a lovely man and that last handful of chapters wouldn't have happened if she women'd up and stopped being so selfish. The vast majority of the book was her being selfish. A "hey can we have a chat I need to talk to you" much earlier into the 1 week together and the whole thing would have ended different. Sue was immensely annoying and I don't agree with how she let it slip but I understand her frustration. The whole ended was Ashley's fault and no one can convince me otherwise. She almost made the book unbearable to finish. Haydon was good though.

Repetitive and boring.
I made it to the end of this one purely because I rarely give up on a book. I cannot judge the actions of the protagonists, given the circumstances of their encounters. But I completely understood the extreme frustration of Sue that let the cat out of the bag. As always the children carry the fallout.
It was the structure of the story that almost had me giving up.
The narration was ok but the phrasing & timing between paragraphs left me confused at times as to which incident I was listening to.
