Cameron Smith, AM, is the most decorated rugby league player of all time. The recipient of numerous Dally M and Golden Boot awards, he has starred in the toughest league competition on the planet every season since he made his NRL debut in 2002. Captaining the Melbourne Storm to multiple premierships, Smith played in a staggering 17 finals campaigns. An integral member of the record-breaking Queensland teams of 2006-2017, he won 11 State of Origin series. As skipper of the Australian national team for more than a decade, he led the Kangaroos to two World Cups. Smith is credited with revolutionising the number nine position. He holds the State of Origin records for most appearances and most wins, as well as the NRL records for most games, goals, points scored, wins and appearances as captain.
This autobiography maps his unique journey in the game: an extraordinary look into the biggest matches and biggest moments, Smith describes his career with great colour and candour, outlining what it takes to climb to the highest level in sport. i love this book, and I think it is an amazing read if you would like to get to know somebody out of social media aspect. I am an extremely large Melbourne Storm fan, and this is an exciting read listening to someone read it to you and then reading that you feel all different emotions, and I cried towards the end. It is something so beautiful and I will listen to this again.

Great book, by the GOAT of the NRL. Tim Carroll really brings it to life and makes it feel really Australian.

Disappointing
Not sure why Smith chose the stories he chose for this book, or more accurately, the way he described them. Poorly written, overly cliche’d and doesn’t paint Cameron in a very good light. Not to mention, he has clearly hidden the truth from the book.... The ghost writer is terrible and the narrator was also awful. A definite 1 Star

A great player but an average book writer.
Whilst Smith is without doubt one of the most accomplished Rugby League players in history, this book is a very run of the mill recount of his rugby league story in loose chronological order. Two things really let it down; 1. the narrator is terrible with a distractingly poor tonality and phrasing. 2. and this is the most frustrating part, half the book is a desperate attempt at revisionist history and trying to set the record straight. It misses the opportunity to give a real insight into the modern game, amazing moments in League history and where Smith see's the future of the sport. 2.5 stars only if you like Smith & Rugby League.
