Exciting story

Really gripping story and I enjoyed the fast pace at which it moved. Well read with great expression and easy to identify characters. The end was beautifully unraveled in great Deaver fashion! Looking forward to the next book in the series!!

Review Stone Monkey By J. Deaver

Some difficult understandings due to Chinese dialects.
But many twists and turns that make Deaver books a joy to read

Story great, but I wasn't a fan of the reader.

story great, but got lost with the reader, compared to the other books read by Jeff harding. I found myself having to listen to chapters over.

Really...more melodrama...is that really the plot

Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmm, firstly I haven't read the book only listened to the audio book so maybe the reader spoiled Jeffery Deaver's work (just kidding), hmm accept one of the biggest issues i have with this audio book is the ridiculous plot line, if this was an interesting book id give a run down of the plot but it isn't, the central plot line is just silly and I could not listen to the audio book after I purchased it.

I listened to "The Bone Collector" and it was really quite good, then I listened to the "Coffin Dancer", it was not so good, plot was starting to get a little bit silly and unrealistic, but not fully unhinged. The reader was still firmly targeting melodrama in his reading of Coffin Dancer the book but it was listenable.

The Stone Monkey is the next step in awful moving on and improving in the area of awful, from the previous two novels, Bone Collector: some melodrama in the language some bullshit in the plot, but good, Coffin Dancer: extra melodrama in the language and large increase in bullshit in the plot, now Monkey Stone, if I could Id get money back i WOULD.

Don't do it , don't buy the paper back and don't buy the hard copy and definitely don't buy the audio-book, hey its just my opinion, I didn't enjoy it I wouldn't go back.

Where's Jeff Harding when you need him?

I just couldn't get into this book. So displaced from the Lincoln that I know so well. Should be re published with Jeff reading.

why didn't jeff harding narrate this?

nothing worse listening to a series and the author changes narrator's
It's not the same, can't get into the story as you have pictures in your head of the characters from the previous books, I have no doubt I would enjoy the book if jeff harding narrated it.

Very disappointing as a fan of the earlier series

Naration was good, the story line started well, some good character development (of new characters), some of the older characters from earlier books (Fred Delray for example) probably didn't need to feature in this novel.

I had to stop listening towards the end as I found one of the characters very offensive and it just ruined the whole experience! I wanted to return the audiobook but apparently I can't because I almost finished the book. That doesn't seem particularly fair to me? I am tempted to try another Jeffrey Deaver novel but will need to read more reviews before committing any credits to it.
