Nobody has died from eating rice vegetables yet
This is a confronting piece of research, sure to touch a nerve; whatever your eating habits are.
I studied nutrition at an academic level until I couldn't believe what I was reading and hearing any more. It just didn't add up, let alone make any common sense.
Do I agree with every recommendation set out in the Mc Dougall diet? Nope.The author does encourage open debate and (having a quick look through the website videos), isn't at all closed minded. There's some conflicting information within the book in places and it does go into rant mode periodically.
I found the overuse of testimonials and study after study references tedious, but someone else might hear just what they need to that day. The pdf file of recipes is a great reference, and makes up for a lot of the book's shortcomings.
One thing is certain, rice, potatoes and a rainbow of veggies and fruit making up your appropriate calorie intake will not make your life any shorter with disease, and they certainly won't kill you unless you choke on them.

A must read
Loved this book very much.
It was an easy read.
Read it in 3 days.
Very informative.
If you want knowledge on starch; well this is the book for you.
Highly recommend!!!

Interesting book only recipe PDFs avail in library
I had been wanting to read this book for a while and it was quite interesting. I feel it would have been easier to listen to and digest if it was read by Dr McDougall himself. As it was it sounded a bit robotic and monotonous. Still, I’m glad I purchased it. The other thing I didn't realise was that there are helpful images (such as how to serve your plate) that are in the paperback version but have not been added to the PDF library which is disappointing.

Great Book
This is a great book. I've read the original book twice and this audible version is perfect for busy people on the go. Packed with a lot of information, research and backed up by a lot of references and studies. I highly recommend it especially to the skeptics who want to understand the truth about food.

I love potatoes always have
The truth has come out and proven to myself it works over the years my waste line goes up and down pending on how much and what I eat . My weight goes from 135kg down to 82kg and still going
