Not her best

Having very much enjoyed Rachel Aaron's Heartstrikers series, I gave this book a try. Unfortunately, I did not find Eli Monpress very charming nor was I particularly enamoured with the plot. The magic aspects were interesting but I'm not continuing to book two.
