Publisher's Summary
Standalone M/M romance novel.
I was afraid to fly. He made me soar. After years of climbing the ladder of success in the music industry, I finally had everything I could want. Yet I still found myself wandering through life alone. Captain Evan Roth was the one man I never saw coming. Tall, dark, mysterious...Straight. We were both damaged beyond repair and searching for something so elusive we weren't sure it even existed. But, when two broken souls collide in midair, falling is a given. I just never expected to crave the spiral down.

4.5 of Goodness..
This was my first book by Aly Martinez and I was not disappointed.
4.5 stars .
The journey of Henry and Evan is rather delicious, a rock plus a pilot!
Everything I love was in this book , the humour is brilliant.
Wonderful characters that kept me wanting more.
The narration by Aiden Snow and Teddy Hamilton absolutely perfect.

It’s a 5, but…
First off I just want to say how ridiculously good the Teddy/Aiden narration is. I also loved the storyline and the MCs in this book, but I can’t get over some of the derogatory terms used by one of the MCs. I get that authors want to make conversations between male characters “realistic” and the whole guys talking smack together and to each other, but to use terms that are blatantly derogatory and insinuating women are lesser/weaker, I just don’t want to hear/read that. It’s a great story, and I’ll listen to it again because it’s Teddy and Aiden, but I won’t be reading/listening to anything else by the author.

Yep, spiralling down is right.
A rich and famous rock star, Henry Alexander has his own private jet because he’s afraid of flying. He’s also afraid of being rejected so he only pursues straight men, enjoying the challenge. Henry sets his sights on cute, straight pilot Evan Roth, hiring him for a one-year contract to keep him close. Evan is an excellent pilot but it’s going to be a bumpy ride. I liked some of the banter, I thought the author captured the rock star world well, and I thought the characters were well-drawn BUT I had a few issues with this. I know it was published in 2016 but I didn’t enjoy the misogynistic language. The guys went from unreconstructed bros to gushy teens - surely there’s some place in the middle? The relationship had to be solved by overly analytical friends, it just didn’t sound like real dialogue. Finally, Henry. He seemed to suffer from internalised homophobia: I can’t love another gay guy because I won’t feel special so I’ll only pursue straight men until I find one who’ll stay. It didn’t make any sense to me, his fears weren’t well articulated, his treatment of Evan was hypocritical and the King Kong analogy didn’t help. Henry’s motivation is the big weakness in the plot. The audio narration by Aiden Snow (as Evan) and Teddy Hamilton (as Henry) was the best thing about this.
