About this listen
It’s been two months since Pandora English left her small hometown to live with her mysterious great-aunt in a haunted mansion in Spektor – the fog-wreathed suburb of Manhattan that doesn’t appear on any map.
With the help of Great-Aunt Celia and the handsome, but dead, Lieutenant Luke, Pandora is beginning to understand that she is heir to a great gift from the Lucasta family – a gift that comes with a frightening responsibility.
And New York needs Pandora’s special gifts.
There is a new designer in town and her ambitions extend far beyond taking over the fashion world one knit at a time.

Loved it
I have to admit, spiders are the one thing that truely freak me out. However I loved this book. It is beautifully written and well crafted. Bringing to mind classic horror films and echos of Stephen King’s ‘Rose Madder’. I loved it. I was hard to put down - so to speak. I can’t wait to start the next book.
I am a huge fan of Tara Moss and making my way through this series is truly delightful.

The narrator drove me nuts!!
The narrator on the first book of the series was so good I purchased the next book in the series without thinking. The Pandora story is no where near as powerful at Tara Moss’ other series but nice for something light to listen to on the train. Unfortunately the second book has a different reader and her voice sounds really petulant and annoying. Makes pandora sound like a spoiled barbie doll or one of the girls in ‘Clueless’. The story itself was ok but I was unable to enjoy it because of the grating voice. I recommend picking the same reader for the whole series. (The first one was brilliant and really suited the main character).
