This book was AWESOME
I drive to work at least 45 minutes each way. I really, really looked forward the drive so I could listen to this book.
The character development and progression of the main characters is so engaging. Full of intrigue and a mixed of mythology and medieval.

tedious and unexciting
I am a big fan of an epic fantasy, when I saw this book had good ratings and was over 20hrs, I got excited. it was a struggle to finish, I kept waiting for something exciting to happen to no avail. Most of the characters are dull and nonengaging, I found Satska the most interesting character, but again her story doesn't really culminate into anything in this book. The narrator's voice is clear and steady but does nothing to build any drama in this book

Has a lot going on so I'll have to re-listen to make sure I didn't miss anything but was very entertaining on the first listen.

What a waste of time
You introduce a main character that does F’ing nothing the whole book. What a waste of time. The author try to make yonik seem human but really all you did was make me dislike the entire series. Don’t bother reading this. Will just make you angry.

Great concept of a world, POOR storytelling.
The world-building was great, with all the ingredients, but it amounted to...not much at all, which was totally disappointing.
Just when you thought the climax was around the corner, it fizzled out into some frustratingly unrelated conversations, and that went on for hours and hours on end. The few short battles were described like you attended a dull history class, rather than being at the scenes.
The characters were simply not believable, with plenty of bipolar contradictions- a highly-skilled assassin who was full of hesitations and rather emotional, a trained female warrior who could kill a dozen men without blinking but enjoyed mothering and nagging others about being polite etc. It felt rather jarring.
