About this listen
"The Snow Last" was born as a poem and remains so in this newly minted Book Three of Kelly Anne Manuel's Rainbow's End Series. In this story the Child is invited on a journey to a town where there is a last snow. The season of winter is fully embraced as a strong element to demonstrate the natural occurrences of endings and beginnings. This book is designed to support the Child who is learning how to cope with the emotions that accompany endings.
"The Snow Last” offers a standing invitation to the Child. Journey to the tail of a rainbow's end and see what seasonal adventures await. In "The Snow Last" the Child will experience a place where an end is a reality. The reality does provide coping elements, however, that the author intends to be conversation points. The story is applicable for any type of ending, whether it the end of a season or the end of something more significant in the Child's life journey.
The simple words take on new meaning as children are lead the way to an adventure where winter is at its best. Snow and all its playful wonders are utilized to capture and keep the Child's attention. The Child's imagination will be ignited with possibilities.
Children are naturally able to imagine events that are characteristic of a playful youth. In this story the author encourages the Child to actively engage in flexing their imagination muscle while also receiving information about the natural cycles that the seasons are known for. These natural cycles are excellent models for life experiences and that is embraced in this book.
It is in early Childhood that futures are being constructed. "The Snow Last" is a tool in a Caregiver's toolbox to assist with that healthy formation. The idea that endings and beginnings are frequent, natural, and necessary is an important message that the author wants to relay. The Child who listens to this book will be entertained.
