About this listen

The Smoky God is a classic tale from the genre of hollow Earth or subterranean literature. A once-favorite tale of Amazing Stories publisher Ray Palmer, The Smoky God is the (purportedly true) tale of two Norwegian fishermen Jens and Olaf Jansen, who sailed their fishing vessel into the inner Earth in the year 1829. While in the center of the Earth, they find an entire society and meet a race and of advanced giants. Eventually, the father and son leave, and Olaf tells his tale, many decades later.

Great book with some caveats

What's left of the original manuscripts is fantastic, however like a lot of classic works in this current time period, the first three chapters and closing chapter are forcibly injected to cast a heliocentric marxist view over the works before the reader has an opportunity to absorb the content within, besmirching the original as crazy fantasy, thus pigeon holing the work and eliminating the readers opportunity to think for themselves. The attempted Swedish accent is also terrible and distracting, as it melts from French to Spanish to Arabic twinges, and would have simply been better left in the performers native accent. See if you can find an unmolested copy of this book for the best experience.

Classic Inner Earth Tale

Some say this is a work of science fiction. I would not be surprised if it is real. I myself have seen unexplainable things and beings while camping in the wilderness. I appreciated this book.
