About this listen
The University, a renowned bastion of knowledge, attracts the brightest minds to unravel the mysteries of enlightened sciences like artificing and alchemy. Yet deep below its bustling halls lies a complex and cavernous maze of abandoned rooms and ancient passageways - and in the heart of it all lives Auri.
Formerly a student at the University, now Auri spends her days tending the world around her. She has learned that some mysteries are best left settled and safe. No longer fooled by the sharp rationality so treasured by the University, Auri sees beyond the surface of things, into subtle dangers and hidden names.
At once joyous and haunting, THE SLOW REGARD OF SILENT THINGS is a rich, atmospheric and lyrical tale, featuring one of the most beloved characters from Rothfuss' acclaimed fantasy series.

Brilliant novella. Worth the credit.
I am disappointed that this novella cost a credit. I am disappointed because I wish it was longer. It is however well worth the cost and if you are fascinated by the World of Rothfuss I think that you may be disappointed but for all of the right reasons.

Poor quality control to an excellent story
I have listened to this story through the Patrick Rothfuss narration a couple of times and thought I would give this version a try. Unfortunately, this audio is the inferior version for two reasons:
1. Poor quality control. I was wondering why this version was longer compared to the version narrated by Patrick Rothfuss. This is because of poor quality control by the person mixing the audio. The first and last chapter of this audio is misplaced, repeating the 3rd and 3rd last chapter. The foreword and afterword by the author is in chapter 2 and the 2nd last chapter. It is dissappointing that so little care or attention was given to the version of this audio with the official narrator for the Kingkiller Chronicle.
2. Pronunciation of Auri's name. Rupert Degas has a lovely and poetic way of saying Auri's name during the Name of the Wind and the Wise Mans Fear. Unfortunately, it seem Rupert was given bad direction and he now pronounces Auri's name in a more bland manner, similar to how Patrick Rothfuss pronounces it.
Beyond that, it is still a good story and narrated well.

Definitely not like Kingkiller Chronicle Series
I guess it was my own fault for not listening to the Sample, but found this book to be long winded rubbish. I loved Patrick Rothfuss first two books in the series, I guess I was expecting mor of the same, he said in the sample that this book was nothing like the others, although it was well written & the performance was great considering the boring subject and plot. And I wasted a Credit on it, if I could have returned after the first chapter I would have, I persevered hoping it would get better

Looooved it!
It is so refreshing to have a story unlike any other. Thank you for writing this and also thanks to the performer as he also helped bring Auri to life for me.

The authors “warning” should have been available to read before purchase.
It made little or no sense. It told me virtually nothing comprehensible about the World setting. The whimsy wasn’t worth a Credit.

An utter waste of time and money
Do not buy this. Rothfuss is clearly just making absolute garbage and releasing it to his readers. Unless you really want to know how Auri spends her days which isn't as interesting as you think. DO NOT GET THIS BOOK!
