About this listen
As a vibrant, young woman with a lifetime of possibilities ahead of her, Freya grants her sister, Pearl, the ultimate gift of motherhood. However, this comes at a hefty price - an unexpected rift in her family and the loss of the man she loves.
Decades later, Freya is divorced, childless and homeless, at rock bottom after losing everything she's worked for. When her estranged niece, Billie, offers sanctuary, managing the family restaurant on beautiful Magnetic Island, Freya can hardly refuse.
Billie has never understood the tension between her mother and her aunt and now, with a newly broken heart, she is nursing a family secret of her own. All three women come together under the tropical Queensland skies, but can they let go of past regrets, or will old tensions tear them further apart?
By the bestselling author of Meet Me in Venice, this is a moving and inspiring novel in a stunning setting about choices and consequences and the redemptive power of love.©2020 Barbara Hannay (P)2020 Penguin Random House Australia

A sweet little romance novel
Set on beautiful Magnetic Island, this is a lovely novel of love, loss and romance. The story is quite predictable but well written and well read.

An easy listen
Over 2 days I listened and got involved in the lives of these characters. Refreshing to hear about different generations and the struggles they face, and lived the descriptions of different parts of Australia I have visited.

Good story
Just a good story, a little predictable but did have a couple of interesting twists. I normally listen to thrillers but I needed something that was a bit relaxed this time around to give my mind a rest from a couple of dark books I had listened to previously.
This story was exactly what I needed to mellow out with. Narrator was good apart from a couple of whiney over done moments with a child's voice.
All around a good book that you don't need to turn off when someone else enters the room!
