About this listen

The Sirens of Titan is an outrageous romp through space, time, and morality. The richest, most depraved man on Earth, Malachi Constant, is offered a chance to take a space journey to distant worlds with a beautiful woman at his side. Of course there's a catch to the invitation and a prophetic vision about the purpose of human life that only Vonnegut has the courage to tell.

As an added bonus, when you purchase our Audible Modern Vanguard production of Kurt Vonnegut's book, you'll also receive an exclusive Jim Atlas interview. This interview – where James Atlas interviews Gay Talese about the life and work of Kurt Vonnegut – begins as soon as the audiobook ends.

Critic Reviews

“Vonnegut is George Orwell, Dr. Caligari and Flash Gordon compounded into one writer . . . a zany but moral mad scientist.” ( Time)
“His best book . . . He dares not only ask the ultimate question about the meaning of life, but to answer it.” ( Esquire)
“Reading Vonnegut is addictive!” ( Commonweal)

Vonnegut= Genius

Vonnegut again plays with time and fate in this great piece of literature. He tells the tale of Malachi Constant in all it's pain and glory. Wonderful story. Beautifully told.

Epic, imaginative sci fi jaunt

This is a pretty great book. If you're new to Vonnegut I'd suggest starting with Slaughterhouse Five though, as I think that's stronger.
Overall this book is powerful piece from a totally unique author. It's very, very strange and I have to admit I'm not sure what Vonnegut was trying to say with a lot of it. I understood the plot in simple terms but I don't really get what it all meant in a deeper sense. It's certainly open to a lot of different interpretations.
Try it if you want a totally odd-ball and eye-opening read that you won't get from any other author.

Probably worth a revisit

I read it in 1985 and liked it so it has stood the test of time.

The journey this book takes you on is huge!

One of, if not the... best Sci-Fi I've ever listened too. The journey this book takes you on is huge!

Meh

While there is almost a worthwhile and strange story woven by the barest of threads here, it's barely entertaining enough to make it worth bearing with.

Boring and hard to follow

I know Kurt Vonnegut is a well reputed writer but I couldn't finish this. Too weird and very hard to follow. Banal.
