About this listen
Love means different things to different people. For some, it's the little things: the checkup calls, the care, the affection, the forehead pecks. For others, it's the big things like an automobile, a cell phone, a laptop, and costly gifts.
Children and adults observe life through different spectrums. While a parent assumes, he's doing his best and showing love by working nine-to-seven and providing the financial assistance to the family, there's a dad who is showing up for practices and baseball trainings. Funny truth, the child views the dad who shows up as the one who loves him most.
You might wonder why there's only seven love languages. How can there be seven? Aren't there more? Is love limited to just these seven? My childhood is the basis for this book. It's the reason I am who I am with my kids, and why I feel the need to share this technique that has worked for me with parents who might be experiencing some difficulties. It's not meant to chastise or turn judge, jury, and executioner because let's be frank, no one has it down to the tees. No matter how many handbooks, magazines, or manuals you read or listen to, parenting isn't a one-shoe-fit-all job.
