Nothing happened...?

Where was the storyline? No backstory on the kid, or his mothers relationship with the father... Or the church.... Nothing happened.

I wasted 15 hours on this book!

I kept waiting for the book to get interesting. Finally when there was about 45 minutes left it started to get interesting but then it was over. I like DK book but not this one.
