About this listen
A story too secret, too terrifying - and too shockingly intimate - for Victorian eyes.
Dear Henry,
I have been Simon Feximal's companion, assistant, and chronicler for 20 years now, and during that time my Casebooks of Feximal the Ghost-Hunter have spread the reputation of this most accomplished of ghost-hunters far and wide.
You have asked me often for the tale of our first meeting, and how my association with Feximal came about. I have always declined, because it is a story too private to be truthfully recounted, and a memory too precious to be falsified. But none knows better than I that stories must be told.
So here is it, Henry, a full and accurate account of how I met Simon Feximal, which I shall leave with my solicitor to pass to you after my death.
I dare say it may not be quite what you expect.

One Of Her Best
Just finished this one and it touched me more than I expected it to. I do prefer stories that are set in the late Victorian era and early 20th century too. I enjoyed the episodic casebook style greatly. And got a glimpse into the authors intellect far more than the other titles she's written.
Recommended reading.
Gary Furlong is the best narrator I've come across to date.

lovely book
honestly my only complaint is abt the line saying singular "they" is an "affront to grammar" when it's actually been used since 1375.
lovely book, really fun presentation of the story, i love the relationship between robert and simon, and i love their implied ending. really, really lovely. the VA did a really great job here too.
