About this listen
Poking a sleeping bear with a sharp stick is foolish. Marty Edwards is about to be very foolish.
Investigative reporter Marty Edwards has found her niche: cold cases. She loves poring over old notes, hunting down long-forgotten witnesses, and digging down through the layers of an unsolved murder case. But this time, Marty is digging where someone obviously doesn't want her. And that someone might also include the Brownsville Police Department. Why else would they assign Detective Kristen Bailey to baby-sit her?
Barely surviving two attempts on her life, Marty abandons Brownsville and the case. Danger follows her as the case turns red-hot. With Detective Bailey along for protection, they race along the Gulf Coast, neither knowing who, if anyone, they can trust. The hardest part is learning to trust each other before it's too late for their hearts - and their lives.

Loved it.
I love that this book wasn't solely focused on the romance, (though it didn't lack in that department), there was a great story line, something that made sure the characters were brought back to one another.
I've just recently started listening to Lesbian romance audio books, and I must say they are so much better than the movies I have seen with all the sad endings, however the books seem to be solely focused on the romance. if all lesbian romance novels were written like this with other focuses besides 2 people and their emotions, I would be listening to audio book ALL the time. If there is anything I would add to have this story as an after thought, it would be to add in some more thrills or suspense to the action scenes so that you are pulled into those scenes. I do like the way that the writer has created little luls so that the characters can have alone time to discover one another, but perhaps there could've been more interruptions that would have made even the relationship of whether it was going to happen or not a little more unsure. But all in all I loved it and will probably listen to it again at some point

Exciting
Loved the fast paced roller coaster ride of this story , the slow burn of the characters connecting and the at it was all so brilliantly intertwined… another amazing narration!

Loved It
I really enjoyed this book it was exciting. The story between the two main characters was secondary to the story over all, but still important. Great listen.

Ace obliteration
Ethically I struggled with the idea presented that being asexual is a problem and something that needs to be embarrassed about. There were many too convenient moments that made the plot work and overall I wasn’t sold on the storyline or finale. Abby Craden as usual was great.
