Publisher's Summary

Originally published in 1910, this audiobook takes the mystery out of the accumulation of wealth and breaks it down into a scientific formula.

Here is an excerpt from the Preface of the audiobook:

This book is pragmatical, not philosophical; a practical manual, not a treatise upon theories. It is intended for the men and women whose most pressing need is for money; who wish to get rich first, and philosophize afterward. It is for those who have, so far, found neither the time, the means, nor the opportunity to go deeply into the study of metaphysics, but who want results and who are willing to take the conclusions of science as a basis for action, without going into all the processes by which those conclusions were reached.

It is expected that the listener will take the fundamental statements upon faith, just as he would take statements concerning a law of electrical action if they were promulgated by a Marconi or an Edison; and, taking the statements upon faith, that he will prove their truth by acting upon them without fear or hesitation. Every man or woman who does this will certainly get rich; for the science herein applied is an exact science, and failure is impossible...

...In writing this audiobook I have sacrificed all other considerations to plainness and simplicity of style, so that all might understand. The plan of action laid down herein was deduced from the conclusions of philosophy; it has been thoroughly tested, and bears the supreme test of practical experiment: It works...and if you wish to reap the fruits of their philosophies in actual practice, listen to this book and do exactly as it tells you to do.

Great Ideas backed with results.

I like the statements commonly used in this book giving the repetitiveness of the word and feeling that comes with the words that are said,
To make you really think for yourself of how getting rich is possible in any way as long as you understand the principles and follow them,
I have found richness organically in my life by thinking like that.

This works!

Have read the book too many times to mention. Tried listening to the 'free' audio versions on YouTube. Finally forked out pennies for a professionaly narrated version - minus the annoying YouTube ads! Love it (and YES The SOGR is working for me just like Wattles insisted it would - because I am working the science in the certain way.)

Great advice

A little dated though. Still an interesting listen and one would be wise to head the advice.

Very interesting

Listening to it again, and probably again and again. So many news ways at looking at things in a way that are so refreshingly moral and right and good for you.

You’ll never get those 2 hours back-don’t do it

This is the second review I’ve ever written in my life but I feel the need to warn any person in advance the mistake I made of losing 2 hours of my life that I’ll never get back again.

I can only assume the good reviews of this book are paid one’s because I honestly don’t understand how anyone can think it’s good.

The underlying message is that you should get rich so you can have more things. In a world of excess where it’s causing irreversible damage with more more more, there lies the rub.

It’s also written in a tone and with language speaking to a white privileged male 70+ and compared to the dozens of other business and self-help and getting rich books I’ve read falls seriously short.
