Margaret Atwood’s The Robber Bride is inspired by "The Robber Bridegroom", a wonderfully grisly tale from the Brothers Grimm in which an evil groom lures three maidens into his lair and devours them, one by one.

But in her version, Atwood brilliantly recasts the monster as Zenia, a villainess of demonic proportions, and sets her loose in the lives of three friends.

Brilliant character study

Like I know ANYTHING about character study. What I do know is that I enjoyed the narration and the story kept me wondering and engaged in the stuff of life. Like a warm quilt with blood stains...life.

Not a bad read

Strangely enjoyable typically Atwood. Once you get through the characters jumping through time, it’s hard to stop

Annoying

I didn’t feel anything for the characters except for the twins…I cannot recommend The Robber Bride
